The Student Affairs Office performs in a supportive role and
within a wide range of student related functions. The Student
Affairs Office leads, directs, and administers overall functions
of Health Services; Student Clubs and Organizations; and the
Associated Students of Grossmont College (ASGC), Inc.
The
following are some of the specific services and responsibilities
of the office:
- Administrative Advisory role to the ASGC,
Inc. and Inter-Club Council (ICC).
- Organization of the Walk of Fame Ceremony;
the Annual Commencement Ceremony, and the Annual Scholarship and
Service Awards Presentation; and special events.
- Serves as a liaison to the Food Services
contractor operation for student and staff input.
- Administers the ASGC, Inc. Board Elections
and Student Trustee Elections.
- Facilitate student complaints and
grievances in compliance with procedures for conflict
resolution.
- Promote a “Quality of Campus Life” for
students.
- Facilitate communication and understanding
of perspectives among the faculty, staff, students, and
community.
- Serve on and chair designated college and
district committees.
- Promote the “shared governance” concept
with student involvement.
- Enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct
through the Student Disciplinary Policy.
The staff in the Student Affairs Office welcomes students to
visit all of the areas in the Student Affairs Department. Our
ultimate goal is to promote student involvement in campus life
programs and activities to complement student educational
experiences at Grossmont College.
