The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College
District and Grossmont College do not discriminate on the basis

Cardiovascular Technology is a highly
technical component of the Allied Health field. It is desirable
that the student enter the Program with a strong foundation in
English language skills, mathematics, and related sciences.
Because of the increasing number of patients who speak a
language other than English, a second-language proficiency is an
asset.
Application Procedure
The Cardiovascular Technology Program at
Grossmont College accepts a limited number of students each year
as dictated by staffing, laboratory and instrumentation
availability, and the number of clinical sites available for
student assignment during the second year of training.
To apply for admission to the Cardiovascular
Technology Program the following steps must be taken:
- The Program Director holds orientation
meetings on most Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM. Prospective
applicants are encouraged to attend for information on
prerequisites, structure of the Program, employment
opportunities and career paths. Call (619) 644-7302 to
schedule an appointment. For information on general
education requirements or to develop an educational plan,
contact the Grossmont College Counseling Center for an
appointment, (619) 644-7208.
- Complete the
prerequisite courses.
- Complete the CVT
Application for Admission Form and return to
the CVT Office, Room 340B. Applications are accepted at any
time after you have completed at least one of the required
prerequisites. Application forms are available from the CVT
office, the Grossmont College Counseling Office and online.
Forms are accepted either in person or via US Mail (return
receipt requested). Cardiovascular Technology Department,
Grossmont College, 8800 Grossmont College Drive, El Cajon,
CA 92020-1799. Selection into the program is "first-come,
first-served" after prerequisite courses are completed
and an application and official transcripts received here in our
office.
- Submit one copy of evidence of high
school graduation or G.E.D. OR evidence of highest
degree/certificate achieved.
- Submit one copy of transcripts showing
completed prerequisite classes to the CVT Office and one
copy of any previous college credit to the
Admissions and Records Office.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that
all transcripts have been received by the Cardiovascular
Technology Office and that all information on the
application is correct and kept up to date.
Transfer, Challenge and Advanced Placement Policy
An individual evaluation will be conducted
for students wishing to transfer into the Program from other
schools, or to challenge the Core Curriculum for advanced
placement into the second year of the Program. Placement will
be based on a space available basis, with students who are fully
matriculated in the Program having first priority. Schedule
an appointment with the Cardiovascular Technology Program
Coordinator to discuss advanced placement.
