Michael Barendse |
Michael Barendse, instructor of Accounting, earned an MBA
from UCLA. He is also a licensed CPA in the state of
California. As an adjunct instructor, Michael taught
graduate and undergraduate business and accounting classes
at Cerritos College, Marymount College and Webster
University.
Michael also held professional positions outside of teaching
including, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President
for mysmart.com, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
for American Golf Corporation, Vice President and Controller
for Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Senior Manager for
Ernst & Young. |

Brian Keliher |
Brian Keliher is a full-time instructor at Grossmont College
where he teaches Business Communication and Business Law.
His academic background includes a BBA degree from Eastern
Michigan University and a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School
of Law. Brian brings significant real-life business
experience to the classroom including work as a freelance
journalist for San Diego Lawyer Magazine that resulted in a
San Diego Press Club Award for a published interview with
novelist Scott Turow. Many years of his pre-teaching career
were spent as owner of a boutique PR agency where clients
received exposure in media including The New York Times,
Los Angles Times, and NPR. His law practice focused on
entertainment/publishing law where he negotiated contracts
with major media companies such as Disney, 20th
Century Fox, Simon & Schuster and Penguin Publishing.
Brian is married and he has a beautiful seven-year-old
daughter. His hobbies include reading and politics. In
fact, his love of politics resulted in a run for U.S.
Congress in 2004. He finished second. |

Priscilla Rogers |
Priscilla Rogers,
instructor of International Business, earned a Bachelor’s
degree in Business Administration from the University of San
Diego with an emphasis in International Business.
Priscilla’s teaching experience includes adjunct positions
at Grossmont College with classes in Introduction to
International Business, Principles of Management, Global
Sourcing, Retail Buying, and Managing Cultural Diversity.
She taught business courses part-time as well for California
State Polytechnical University, Mira Costa College, and the
University of San Diego.
Priscilla has extensive experience in international
marketing and global business with companies such as the
Paper Magic Group, Sewco, Porter International, Beebas
Creations and Sears and Roebuck International. Currently
she is also the owner of a small business involved in
creating and selling handmade lampwork glass beads and
jewelry. |

Nate Scharff |
Nate Scharff, Business Instructor, received his B.S. in
Business Administration from San Diego State University and
his Master in Business Administration from the University of
San Diego. Nate teaches Marketing, Business Communications,
and Introduction to Business Courses at Grossmont College.
Nate’s professional experience compliments his classroom
work. Highlights of his marketing career include positions
as a Senior Research Analyst and Product Manager for Jack
in the Box, Inc.; a Regional Marketing Manager for PetCo,
Inc; and Marketing Director for Westfield America, Inc.
Prior to joining Grossmont, Nate also worked as an adjunct
instructor at National University, Mesa College and City
College.
Nate is married and the father of two rambunctious boys.
His hobbies include surfing, camping and hanging out with
his family. Nate has been teaching at Grossmont full-time
since 2006. |

Judy Zander |
Judy Zander is a professor of accounting and currently the
chair of the Business Administration department.
Judy earned an Associate’s degree from Grossmont College, a
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Diego State
University, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration
with an emphasis in Human Behavior from National University.
Judy has been teaching at Grossmont College since 1983. |
