The O.P.T. program at Grossmont College should be listed as the Eighth Wonder of the World! I was struggling in so many ways after the end of a 21-year marriage. I enrolled in O.P.T. and took full advantage of all that they offer to displaced homemakers and so many other individuals from all walks of life with a wide variety of disadvantages.  I graduated from the program with an honorable recognition and a scholarship. Their job placement staff went into immediate action and soon I was hired by the largest privately owned Insurance Agency in Southern California.  I have since been promoted and am proud to say that I am now a licensed Insurance Agent!  It is quite a dramatic change from the part-time hairdresser suffering from a painful divorce just 17 months ago.   --A.B.

I am a Home Mortgage Associate and a graduate of the Office Professional Training program. This program has a ripple effect. I was a waitress for 25 years and could no longer physically perform the job.  I had never even touched a computer when I entered the classrooms of OPT. I was placed in my first job well before graduation. Now, as a very successful Home Mortgage Associate, I have found my dream job. My associates frequently turn to me for help with their computers and office practices! My daughter and nephew are also graduates of OPT. My daughter, who never even graduated (from) high school, is now an insurance agent; and my nephew is gainfully employed by one of San Diego’s largest insurance firms.
