City comes back in finale
(2/14) The Griffins held many leads in Wednesday's season finale,
but lost to City College 90-79 in overtime.
The Griffins lead the game up until the final seconds of regulation
when City's Shawn Brooks buried a three pointer to tie the game. A
series of turnovers took the game to overtime where City blasted the
Griffins 21-10.
Aaron Tinsley led the Griffins with 24 points, including six
three-pointers. Casey McRoberts-Hight chipped in 17 points.
Grossmont finishes the season 6-10 in conference play and 7-22
overall.

Valley College, the Griffins were defeated 68-67 last night.
With the Griffins trailing 68-64, Casey McRoberts-Hight hit an
uncontested three at the buzzer for the final score.

Clady orders upset special
Grossmont's Maurice Clady went on a
scoring spree Saturday night as the Griffins stunned Cuyamaca on the
road 66-63 in overtime. The speedy point guard had a night to
remember scoring a career-high 35 points.
The sophomore out of Crawford High School hit both the game-tying
shot in regulation, and the game winner in OT.

Grossmont beats up on Mesa
(1/25) The Griffins used a huge night from sophomore guard
Casey McRoberts-Hight to upend visiting Mesa 78-66 last night at
Grossmont. McRoberts Hight scored 31 points including seven
three-pointers and eight rebounds. Point guard
Maurice Clady added
20 points, six assists, and four steals. With the win the Griffins
improve to 4-5 in conference play and 5-17 overall.

City game to be made up
(1/18) The Grossmont College basketball game that was to be
played on 1/17 at City College will be made up on Thursday February
8th at 7pm at City College. The original contest scheduled for 1/17
was not played.

(1/14) The Griffins got a PCC home win taking a 76-70 decision
over Mira Costa College Saturday night. Point guard Maurice Clady
was Grossmont's scoring leader with 16 points. Teammate Aaron
Tinsley was on target for 13 points.
The Griffins overcame a slight two-point deficit at the half for the
win, their third in seven PCC contests.

Jaguars top Griffins at home
(1/9) The Grossmont offense dug themselves too deep a hole in the
first half and couldn't quite complete a comeback attempt falling to
Southwestern 57-64 in a PCC game.
The Jaguars took a 33-24 halftime lead thanks to the cold shooting
Griffins who hit only six field goals in the first half. Grossmont
then cut into the lead, trailing 55-52 with 2:41 to play, but
couldn't generate enough offense to finish off the comeback.

Grossmont loses OT decision
(1/7) The Griffins dropped to 2-2 in the PCC with an 93-102 overtime
loss at Palomar College. Grossmont's
Aaron Tinsley pumped in 34 points, including five
three-pointers, but it was not enough for the Griffs.
Grossmont center Brett Allred chimed
in with 21 points and point guard Maurice
Clady added 12.

Griffs
move to 2-0 in PCC play
The Griffins have flipped the switch in the conference portion of
their schedule. Following a disappointing 1-10 start to the season,
Grossmont defeated host Mesa College 77-54 to move to 2-0 in
conference games.
The lead for Grossmont was only 33-29 at halftime, but the Griffins
torched the Olympians 44-25 in the second half. Guard
Casey McRoberts-Hight (top) led the
scoring with 21 points, including three 3-pointers.
Maurice Clady (right) chipped in with
14 points, Brett Allred had 11, and
Aaron Tinsley scored 10 for Grossmont

Grossmont
basketball starts PCC season on winning note
The Griffin men got the conference season started on a
winning note by defeating Miramar College 79-66 on Grossmont’s
home court. Miramar is in its first season fielding a mens
basketball program. The Griffins were led by 6-7 sophomore
Brett Allred’s (right) 24 points,
a career high for the forward from Lehi, Utah.
The Miramar Jets actually took a 37-36 lead into halftime, an
impressive feat on the road in conference play. The host
Griffins however would close out the contest by allowing the
Jets to shoot just 24 percent in the second half.
Point guard Maurice Clady
registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists,
Aaron Tinsley scored 10, and
Emery Mitchell pulled down a

Tournament this weekend
Tournament Home
(12/1) The 35th Annual Grossmont College Invitational Tournament
tips off Friday with games at 2, 4, 6 and 8pm. In the 2pm game
Cuesta will take on LA Southwest. At 4 Southwestern College will
battle Chaffey. At 6 The Griffins will play host to College of the
Desert. In the 8pm finale Barstow will face Cypress, who were the
runners up in last years tournament. Grossmont finished in fifth
place last year, losing their final game to Cuesta 75-61. Read

(11/11) Grossmont lost a tough decision at College of the Canyons on Friday (11/10) 90-99 in overtime.
Sophomore point guard Maurice Clady
again led the Griffin scoring with 23 points.
Casey McRoberts-Hight added 19 for the
Griffs, who will participate in the City College Tournament this
weekend.

drop opener to
Citrus
(11/8) Grossmont lost their first game of the 2006-07 season to
host Citrus College 71-91.
Maurice Clady (right) and
Greg Monroe each scored 20 points for the
Griffins. Monroe had a team-high six rebounds while teammate
Casey McRoberts-Hight added 10 points.
Grossmont will travel to play College of the Canyons on Firday.
Their home opener will be Tuesday 11/21 at 6pm against Barstow.
