The Hyde Art Gallery is pleased to announce “The Artist’s Mentor” – a drawing and printing
exhibition by Patricia Patterson, Manny Farber, William Mosley, Leslie Nemour and Jim Randall.
Former University of California, San Diego art professors Manny Farber and Patricia Patterson were
a tour de force in the classroom as well as the art world at large. Three of their former students
from the late 1970’s to early 1980’s pay homage to these two great leaders. The influence of Farber
and Patterson is reflected in the paintings of Bill Mosley, a Fine Art Professor at Grossmont College,
Leslie Nemour, a Fine Art Professor at Mira Costa College, and Jim Randall, a practicing artist in New
York City. The artist/mentor relationship comes to life within the walls of the Hyde Art Gallery and
celebrates the role of the teacher – Bill Mosley stated, “If it wasn’t for Manny and Patricia, I’d be
living in a van by the river.” “The Artist’s Mentor” highlights their individual work as well as
honors their unique relationships together.
