Administration of Justice

Core Curriculum and Accompanying Areas of Emphasis

By completing the Core Curriculum required in all the above areas of emphasis, students in the Administration of Justice program will learn about the interrelationships between the various segments of the system. The roles of politics and the public in making the system work will be studied while using the principles from the sciences of psychology, sociology, political science and biology.

Grossmont College will confer an Associate Degree in Administration of Justice upon students who successfully complete the following requirements:

A minimum of 60 semester units of college work. Achievement of a "C" (2.0) grade point average in all college work presented to meet degree requirements.  Please note "P/NP" classes do not qualify for degree or certificate program.

Meeting the general education requirements as defined in the Grossmont College catalog.

Completion of the major course requirements in the field of Administration of Justice, as designated by the College catalog.

Any student who chooses to complete only the Administration of Justice core curriculum plus one of the areas of emphasis qualifies for a certificate in that area. An official request must be filed with the Admissions and Records office prior to the deadline as stated in the Academic Calendar.

Students should be aware that prior felony convictions are disqualifying. Prior substance abuse and other disqualifiers may apply in specific positions related to law enforcement or forensics.

You must pay all tuition immediately or you will be dropped from the course. This may not apply to VA or Financial Aid applicants. Contact your counselor for verification.  If you are dropped, you are not given priority to re-enroll.
