We are so pleased that you have chosen
Grossmont College to continue your
education. Whatever your academic goal—be it a
degree for transfer to a four-year college, a degree
or certificate in for a new skill in a workforce area,
or to reinvigorate your life and to explore the
many career options available to you. Our college
is a very special place!
In its physical layout, and in the philosophy
that guides us, Grossmont College is an academic village. The buildings
on our 135-acre campus are arranged, clockwise from Building 10 all the
way around the campus back to Building 62, in a quadrangle
surrounding the Learning Resource Center Building 70 and a central
quad area. The central Learning Resource Center is surrounded by two
buildings housing other important services you are likely to utilize during
your stay with us. These are the Student Services and Administration
Building 10 near the main entrance to campus, and Griffin Center Building
60 a short walk away.
Additionally, you will find people who care about you and are pledged
to your success all over the campus. We at Grossmont College take very
seriously the motto, “Changing Lives Through Education,” and every
administrator, faculty and staff member here is committed to help you
achieve your educational goal. If you have a question, are in need of help,
or simply want to enjoy a conversation with someone who cares about
you, please say hello to any one of us. Our mission is to help you succeed
and we are delighted to be a resource for you. Your success is our success.
There are more than 40 clubs on campus, each intended to help you
find a group of people with common interests with whom you can share
your educational experience. Open to all students, some clubs have ethnic
focus, others religious, others sports, others academic, and the list is as
varied and diverse as our student population. In addition, the college offers
16 different intercollegiate sports teams for males and females to choose
from whether you are a student athlete or simply a Griffin at heart.
The people at Grossmont College respond positively to students who
work hard in their classes and participate fully in campus life. We’re
delighted you have become part of our educational family!
