ECS - What is Umoja?

Umoja: a Kiswahili word meaning Unity

Our Umoja program is designed to support the persistence and retention of African/African American students toward defined educational goals: Certificates of Achievements, Associate Degree and University Transfer.

Our program includes Instructional and Student Services support.

We collaborate with local campuses and other state-wide programs.

Mission Statement

The Umoja Program  serves educationally and economically disadvantage students, believing that when the voices and histories of students are deliberately and intentionally recognized, students develop self-efficacy and a foundation for academic success.
