eBooks
eBooks give you easy, instant
access to electronic books, anytime, from anywhere. With searchable content,
built-in dictionaries, and no late fees, eBooks are a
great way to research.
eBooks may be accessed
by going to the
NetLibrary homepage or by searching the Grossmont Library’s
online catalog.
Search the online catalog
To search
specifically for eBooks in the Library's
online catalog,
click on the Advanced Search link.

Enter a "word or phrase" to describe your
topic in the search box.

In the "library:" pull down menu, select
Grossmont College Library.

In the
“type:” pull down menu, select Electronic Book.

Click the Search button and the
catalog will display all the eBooks owned by the library.

Viewing an eBook
- To view an eBook, click on the Online
Resource button in the right corner of the
record in the search results list.

- This will bring you to the item
record page. Scroll (if necessary) to the bottom
of this page and click on the blue link that
says “Grossmont students click here to read
this e-book.”

- This will take you to the
NetLibrary website. Click the large blue link
that says “View this eBook.”

- The hyperlinked table of contents
will appear on the left side and the actual
viewing pages will be on the right. Please note:
to turn the pages, you must click on the Next
button on the TOP right corner of the viewer.

Off Campus Login
If you are off campus, you may
still search for eBooks using the Library's online
catalog or via the NetLibrary homepage, however, to
view an eBook, you will need to log in.
You will see this page:

Login using your Grossmont or
Cuyamaca Username and password (the same one you use for
campus email and network logon).
Username: firstnamelastname Password: 6 digit pin
Requirements
In order to read eBooks you will need to have
Adobe Reader software on your computer.
Here's a link to get it if you don't already
have it.

Configure Adobe Reader so that it opens within
the browser window and not in a separate window.
Open Adobe Reader and following the steps below:
- Click Edit > Preferences
- Select the "Internet" Category
- Check "Display PDF in browser"
- Click "OK"
