Business Communications Services OfficeDescription We will continue to focus on using more technology to streamline our processes and meet the continuing demands of our campus needs. Curriculum Impact None Approximate Number of Students Served The Business Communications Services Office serves students on a daily basis by receiving homework and messages to faculty. We also assist students with information when needed. We also assist through phone services. Support Impact Both technical and personnel support will be required to meet the demands in the future. Technical support needs will most likely remain the same in the future. The BCS Office will use existing personnel and, if needed, arrange for our current staff to receive the additional training required for our new technically enhanced services. Year 1 (2007-2008) Objective During the first phase of our three-year objective, we will upgrade as necessary the PCs in the BCS Department. Replace the current phone system to better serve faculty and staff with less down time. Replace the shredder in the Mail Center Lobby with an industrial criss-cross shredder for staff and faculty use to provide a more secured environment to prevent identity theft. Upgrade the copier machine in the Mail Center Lobby. Upgrade the staff and faculty mailboxes to meet the demands of the increase of personnel. Action to Meet Objective Replace current PCs (6). Research the technology upgrade of a new phone system. Purchase an industrial criss-cross shredder. Purchase Copier. Research ways to maintain and increase the mailboxes.
