Art - CeramicsDescription Provide up to date technology that is specifically designed to equip and support ceramic education and objectives. Provide continuing upgrades and expansions to the ever changing world of technology in the ceramic field. Curriculum Impact Ceramic students will be able to take advantage of the technology tools that have direct applications to their Ceramic Arts Education. Students will be able to utilize imaging techniques for their individual works and fire them with the latest computer controlled kilns. Approximate Number of Students Served Ceramics served approximately 385 students per academic year Support Impact This equipment will be installed by a variety of in house technicians and outside vendors. Maintenance is limited to replacement of bulbs or other repair. This work must be done by qualified personnel from IM or the manufacturer (for warranty work). This equipment can be installed by department personnel. Maintenance of the equipment will require assistance from on-campus and district computer support personnel. Year 1 (2007-2008) Objective 1. Upgrade all student facility and tech. computer systems 2. Secure Digital Video Camera for studio 3. Establish video projection system for room 202 4. Cover all outside Kilns and work area in yard 5. Replace small student pugmill 6. Upgrade Extruders 7. Expand number of handicapped standup wheels 8. Rebuild soda Kiln 9. Upgrade Student wheels in advanced room 10. Expand number of wheels in beginning room so all beginning students can use electric wheels 11. Upgrade Student/Faculty digital camera. 12.
