Exercise Science and Wellness
2002-2004
Description
We
need new computers in the instructor offices. We need to install computer
projection equipment in rooms 402, 408 and 426.
Curriculum Impact
More
technology has allowed out department to improve its quality of
instruction. As our instructors become
more aware of how to use the technology, we are improving out offerings. We
have one online course in Health Education with other instructors investigating
what types of technology will fit into our curriculum.

Support Impact
We need more support in our department because some of our current full time instructors are not comfortable with using computers. So much information is available that the process of getting started is overwhelming.
Year 1 (2002-2003)
Objective
To have all of our full time and adjunct instructors online with email accounts so our department can communicate on a regular basis. Most adjuncts never attend department meetings and are left out of the loop. Some full time instructors still are not familiar with email.
Action to Meet Objective
We need three new computers in the foyer of the women’s office area. One computer for the department secretary and two computers for use by our adjunct instructors to use on campus. We need some one on one instruction for some members of our staff. Information on email, how to file and manage their files, and how to move the files from the computer to a disk, zip drive attach the file to email and so on.
Year 2 (2003-2004)
Objective
To have our entire full time instructors with a web site that contains the courses they teach, course outlines, syllabus, and office hours, email addresses that would allow students to visit that site and investigate all of our courses.
Action to Meet Objective
During staff development week have a presentation with hands on sessions that allow the members of our department to create and develop their own web site. This would require some follow up sessions one on one with some of out staff.
