EOPS:  Extended Opportunity Program and Services

2002-2004

Description

Background:  EOPS has 3, full-time counselors and 7 Adjunct.  Four, current offices require computers and equipment that allow for access to campus and web based programs and information including automated scheduling software that accounts for current and future student appointment plus students who are waiting for walk-in counseling in the lobby area.

EOPS will request an additional office and full-time counselor for fall 03.  Staff funding will be in place through categorical allocations, however a computer and printer will be necessary.  In addition, one full-time current counselor office requires an updated system including a 19 inch monitor.  Counselors in EOPS utilize these large monitors to demonstrate web registration to students who are sitting adjacent to the desk.  Demonstrations are also done for utilization of ASSIST and other resources available to students over the web.
