Curriculum Impact

Communication courses require use of technology today.  Faculty instruct students to give presentations using Power Point.  Research for speech presentations require use of computer Internet capabilities in the classroom and in faculty, lab offices.  Speech practice is improved by using video equipment and video feedback capabilities.  Improving diction and speaking skills is enhanced through computer mediated methods.

Approximate Number of Students Served

The communication department currently serves approximately 2200 students per semester.  We have increased the number of sections in the past two years by approximately 4 sections per semester.  We intend to increase our sections.  We have almost all weekday/night sections filling every classroom available. We will begin to pen up more sections on Fridays and possibly Saturdays.

Support Impact

Due to an increase in sections, there may be a need for more faculty.  Otherwise no additional technical support is required.
