Anthony Swofford, who authored the prize winning Jarhead: A Gulf War Memoir, was an unqualified
success as the last of the three keynote readers of the 2007 Literary Arts Festival. Swofford packed the
Room 200 auditorium with captivated audience members. He read from passages from Jarhead as
well as excerpts from his latest novel, Exit A, and a work-in-progress still in manuscript form. Swofford
remained after the reading to answer questions about his controversial memoir and to sign books for a
long queue of his fans.
