can be made from other bus routes
and from the San Diego Trolley
System.
Using a bicycle
Bicycle riders should investigate
surface streets with bicycle lanes and
official bicycle routes before
journeying to the campus. Bicycle
racks are conveniently located near all
major campus entry points. Note:
Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates
and roller blades are not allowed on
the campus walkways.
[A] AUDITORIUM
Room 220 / Theater Arts Complex
This auditorium and classroom is
frequently the venue when greater
attendance is expected. The room has
comfortable, theater-like aisle seating
with two main doors of access, one of
which is wheelchair accessible.
[B] LIBRARY
The Library Resource Center and Tech
Mall are at the very center of the
Grossmont College campus. This two-
story building is easily recognizable
and is also a good place to "hang out"
and do a little reading or writing
before the scheduled events.
[C] GRIFFIN GATE
This lounge at the southeast corner of
the 600 Building (Student Center and
Cafeteria) is the primary venue for
readings and guest lectures at the
Literary Arts Festival: comfortable
seating in a lounge environment, with
lamps, couches, and hors d'oeuvres.
Griffin Gate can also be accessed from
outside the 600 Building, through the
outdoor patio area where guests break
for intermission and take their
conversation, their snacks, and their
cigarettes to the open air.
[E] ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
The Literary Arts Festival is organized
and sponsored by the Creative Writing
Program in the Grossmont College
English Department. The main offices
of the English Department, including
the Department Chair, are located in
this complex of classrooms and office
spaces. If you are lost, don't hesitate
to ask anyone working in this building
where to go for a Festival event;
they'll be happy to assist you.

The Grossmont College campus is
undergoing a dramatic transformation
to provide improved parking and
transportation resources for students
and visitors. Unfortunately, the
ongoing construction has made
parking on campus during daytime
hours a greater challenge. We are
working currently to guarantee reliable
parking options for our festival vistors.
Updates relevant to this will be posted
to this website soon. To read more
about the Campus Construction
Program, please visit the District's
