Technology at Your Fingertips

  • Some documents, when you copy them from the Internet to an application such as MS Word, don't "wrap" nicely.  Now there's an application that will rewrap the messed-up text: SmartWrap the Clipboard at www.selznick.com/products/smartwrap/win.htm.
It might be well worth using!

Hints, Tips, Tricks, etc.

  • Did you know that tons of books are freely available electronically?  Check out this address for a list of web sites that offer easy access to tens of thousands of electronic books:
    http://grossmont.gcccd.cc.ca.us/Library/freedb.asp
Find the list of electronic book links about half-way down the page.
  • Would you or your students like to HEAR the pronunciation for a word?  Click on:
    http://grossmont.gcccd.cc.ca.us/Library/reftools.asp
The Merriam-Webster logo with box (labeled "dictionary") will appear.  Enter your word, and, when it is found, there is a little megaphone next to the word that you can click on to hear the word being pronounced.
